DBI provided cost management services for the repair of a 36-story, 975,000 square foot Class A skyscraper in Manhattan’s Financial District. As a result of Hurricane Sandy, the skyscraper’s lobby, cellar, and sub-cellar levels were flooded, rendering most of its infrastructure services unusable. To avoid future flood damage, the property ownership decided to build a mezzanine level to house the building’s main electrical equipment. We worked closely with the owners’ representatives as well as with the general contractor to ensure enhancement costs were properly separated from repair costs. The approximate project value was over $64M.
